Thank you for making the GOVCERT.NL Symposium 2008 a wonderful event. We look back at a number of wonderful and inspiring days. We listened to very professional speakers, talked to each other, made new friends and renewed old friendships. We have learned that, in order to ensure reliability and trust in cyber space in the long run, we need to look at liabilities of the different parties in the field of software and infrastructures. Additionally, we need to co-operate and use each other's qualities to fight cyber crime and join forces to reach the end users.

Thank you for your positive feedback!

Going through the evaluation forms, we got the feeling that almost everything was right. Thank you! At the same time, you gave us plenty of points to improve as well. This will keep up sharp!

A selection of your feedback:

This year’s theme was : How sustainable is your security?

It’s 2008. Global security spending is up, international cooperation is stronger than ever and miscreants are being tried for sending spam or running botnets. At the same time, the software, hardware and ICT solutions that we depend on for so many aspects of our daily lives are full of security holes.

While sustainability is a real issue in most industries, many ICT solutions are still introduced without proper attention to security. This leaves us with the question: which assertions can we really make about the security of the systems that we use to work, trade, travel, shop, vote and control our infrastructure?

Security is an investment in the future. It is about the products that we run, the services that we use and the society that we live in. Not only now, but also 5, 10 and 15 years from now.

It is time to bring sustainability into the security equation: How sustainable is your security?
