Welcome to the website of the GOVCERT.NL symposium 2008! The symposium, held for the seventh consecutive year, offers the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the field of information security.

This year’s theme: How sustainable is your security?

It’s 2008. Global security spending is up, international cooperation is stronger than ever and miscreants are being tried for sending spam or running botnets. At the same time, the software, hardware and ICT solutions that we depend on for so many aspects of our daily lives are full of security holes.

While sustainability is a real issue in most industries, many ICT solutions are still introduced without proper attention to security. This leaves us with the question: which assertions can we really make about the security of the systems that we use to work, trade, travel, shop, vote and control our infrastructure?

Security is an investment in the future. It is about the products that we run, the services that we use and the society that we live in. Not only now, but also 5, 10 and 15 years from now.

It is time to bring sustainability into the security equation: How sustainable is your security?
