Dr Anton Chuvakin is a recognized security expert and book author. His current role is Chief Logging Evangelist with LogLogic, a log management company. He is an author and contributor to several security books including "Security Warrior", "Know Your Enemy II", "Information Security Management Handbook", "Hacker's Challenge 3" and "PCI Compliance." Chuvakin has also published numerous papers on security issues; he is also an active blogger (see www.securitywarrior.org) and frequent speaker at security conferences. . He participates in various security industry initiatives and standards organizations.
Logging for Incident Response and Forensics: Key Issues Tuesday 16 September, 11:30 - 12:15, Leeuwen RoomThe presentation will cover the use of various system, network and security logs and audit trails in the incident response process, from methodology to practical case studies and tools. It will touch upon incident response practices and the role of logs in them, using logs for forensics and e-discovery as well as for incident detection. Recommended logging settings that organizations use to increase the productivity and effectiveness of their incident response process will be discussed. In addition, a few key questions on using logs as forensic evidence will be discussed.
