Brett Lambo Director, Cyber Exercise Program National Cyber Security Division, U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Brett Lambo is the Director of the Cyber Exercise Program for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) National Cyber Security Division (NCSD).

Prior to his position at NCSD, Mr. Lambo played a lead role in the DHS Office of Infrastructure Protection’s Critical Infrastructure protection partnership efforts. He was instrumental in the creation, development, implementation, and operation of the sector partnership and the Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council (CIPAC) – DHS’ principal mechanism for public-private and Federal/State collaboration for critical infrastructure protection. He was also closely involved in developing the information sharing strategy for the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP), as well as the development and exercise of the Office of Infrastructure Protection’s incident management plans, procedures and operations.

Prior to his tenure at DHS, Mr. Lambo spent nearly 10 years as a consultant to Federal and State government agencies including the Departments of the Treasury and Health and Human Services, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and other international development organizations such as the World Bank.

Mr. Lambo holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago.

Unknown to many, the Cyber Excercise program comprises more than just Cyber Storm. In this presentation, Brett Lambo will give an overview of the current Cyber Excercise Program. He will discuss how the program is set up and how it ties in with other (federal) excercise programs. He will also touch on the international aspect of excercises, the need for international cooperation and the reasons why cyber excercises are so essentially different from regular excercises.
