Dave Woutersen is security specialist and incident handler at GOVCERT.NL. He has been working in the security landscape for about 8 years and before he joined GOVCERT.N he was a consultant for firewall solutions and content-scanners. When not handling incidents, Dave works on setting up and implementing the Monitoring Service or analysing malware and botnets.
As for hobbies, most of my spare time you'll find me behind my computer analysing malware or playing simulation games like Falcon4, OFP, ArmA, FlightSimulator or X-Plane. When I do see the sun, chances are I'm either on the water enjoying a nice sailing trip, or under water to enjoy the beautiful underwater-gardens at Bonaire.
You _are_ the weakest link... goodbye! Tuesday 16 September, 15:45-16:30, Mees AuditoriumInformation security has become a major business. Millions of Euro's are spend every year on education, hard- and software, knowledge-sharing, meetings, outsourcing, engineering, etc. All this is spend too make sure IT-networks are being protected to avoid information disclosure and reduce the risk for damage caused by worms and viruses. In this presentation Dave shows us how too much trust in security measurements and the people controlling them, can lead to unsafe IT-environments which are, at times, shockingly easy to penetrate.....and yes, we are talking about critical infrastructure.
